The Nose Family Reviews
The Nose Family live in a small town of interesting noses. Despite being busy, the three members of the family don’t feel content. In this charming children’s story, they take it upon themselves to find ways to boost their happiness without being too nosey!
The beauty of The Nose Family is that it suits children from toddlerhood to the end of primary school. This means the book will grow with your child, rather than being quickly outgrown. It is also an ideal solution for families with children of varying ages, as the book can be enjoyed by siblings together. While older children can read the book independently, the pictures will be appreciated by all! Even the youngest member of the family will remain engaged by searching for the yellow bird hidden within each picture.
The story weaves several critical morals gradually into its fabric. The Nose Family gently encourages children to think about what is truly important in their lives, and emphasises the importance of finding activities or hobbies that you love. There is also a reference to consideration of how others perceive us, and feelings of gratitude. It makes clear that we are all equal, and no one should be singled out for any perceived differences. The story is a lovely introduction to empathy that even the youngest of readers will be able to understand.
Beautifully illustrated, The Nose Family will delight children of all ages. The pictures depict everyday family life with a good dose of wittiness that will leave young readers giggling. For parents reading to their children, there is plenty of adult humour within the illustrations to keep them entertained, too. I particularly loved the box in the attic labelled “smelly socks”!
This truly is a book to delight every member of your family. The Nose Family is sure to be a book that your children will return to again and again.
